The flagship New York Marriott Marquis—a 1,971-room property with nearly half a million square feet of airspace, chose a Combined Heat and Power (CHP) plant, equipped with three engines generating a combined 4.2 MegaWatts (MW) of power, to make the hotel approximately 75% self-sufficient from municipal utility power.
